Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but on the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God.
On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates.
For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
Exodus 20:8
That means that starting about 6:30 Friday evening we turn off the television, the computer and all other worldly distractions. We eat a delicious supper together, tell Bible stories, play games with the kids and just rest & relax.
Saturday we don't do any chores or cooking (we eat sandwiches and finger foods throughout the day ... don't want you thinking we starve!). Instead we just enjoy the day of rest that the Lord provided for us.
We love Sabbath! Here are some of the fun things we did this past Sabbath...
{played with blocks}
{just looked cute}
{and were very happy that we got to spend time with Tabitha (my cousin) and her baby}
{Lucca, pre-dinner meltdown}
{Lucca, after a little persistent training from his Mama. He was happier after his meltdown/training session!}
{The evening ended with bath time for all. Lucca really enjoyed his bath. Hannah looks grumpy in this pic but she really ended up having fun too...}
Saturday we went on a hike:
