Birthday Fun

I had a Brown Bear, Brown Bear party for Amos.  Well, the invites were Brown Bear but that's as far as the theme went.  I had planned to have chocolate teddy grahams & goldfish for snacks but I ran out of time.  We had a low key party with mainly family and a few good friends.  We grilled hamburgers & hotdogs, enjoyed cupcakes & ice cream and spent the evening chatting as Amos enjoyed his new toys.  Low key and fun!

We're singing Happy Birthday to Amos in this picture.  I think he was starting to get a little overwhelmed.
But a little chocolate & cream cheese makes everything better!

Love

Hannah had her "cheesy face."
Samuel had his "squinty face."
And Amos just has "the face."

He started making this face for some reason but it is so cute!!  So now we spend a lot of our time saying, "Make the face Amos.  Make the face!"  Sometimes he shakes his head "no" and sometimes he'll perform for us.  Amos is such a cutie patootie!!

-- One --

Our sweet Amos James is one year old.  I'm not sure how it happened.  One minute I was nursing him constantly and sleeping little, all the while wishing he was a year old.  Next thing I know it's July and Amos is crawling and talking and turning one!

He is just the sweetest little guy.  He loves to snuggle and gives great open mouthed slobbery kisses.  He follows Hannah & Samuel around everywhere they go.  He's very happy and laid back.
Amos sleeps through the night - going to bed at 8 or 8:30pm and sleeping until 8:30 or 9:00am.  He goes to sleep so easily too.  I just lay him down with his paci & snuggle blanket and he's out.

Amos has become very verbal and his list of words grows daily:  Da Da, Ma Ma, Na Na (for Hannah), doggy, cat, duck and chicken.

He's very stubborn and independent.  He loves to crawl around but would rather be walking around.  He gets very angry (then ignored) when you won't help him walk.

He's got 6 of the cutest little teeth and the cheesiest little grin!  Love love love this little guy!!

4th of July

Or the day of the torrential downpour.  Or the day that the river -near my parents house- kissed the bottom of the bridge because it rained so much that day.  Seriously people.

My Mom decided she wanted to make Low Country Boil instead of grilling out this year.  It was our first time making it and it turned out great.  I think Hannah ate all of the crab legs all by herself.
Despite the deluge we managed to shoot some fireworks.  We had some bottle rockets and roman candles.  Amos & my sister started out with us on the porch.
But after this started --
and this --
Amos retreated to the house to watch the rest of the show.

I hope your 4th was as delicious and fun as ours was!

Summer Time

... and the livin' is easy.

Now that VBS is over we haven't had much of a schedule.  We've just been sleeping late, occasionally heading to the lake with friends and having fun.  The only thing that we have going on is Hannah's weekly drama class which will end with a production on the 13th.  It's going to be cute.

Here are a few pics of what we've been up to lately.

-- We've been swimming at OSP with friends we made during Upward.  Rhett was on Sammy's basketball team and I went to school with his aunt and one of his uncles.

--Our local Frozen Yogurt store has been hosting free outdoor movies bi-monthly.  They have balloon animals, bounce houses, pizza, popcorn, frozen yogurt of course and much more.  All you have to do is show up with blankets & camping chairs and just enjoy the fun.
We've been with some friends from church.
 My Mom & Amos
Austin (above) and Logan (below) are brothers.  They are such sweet sweet boys too.  Logan & Sammy have been having a blast together this summer.
Nathaniel "loves" Hannah.  Do you remember those days of kindergarten love?

--Hannah made a little friend during Upward.  Madison & her Dad have also been coming to BLBC too.  This past weekend was Madison's birthday party and it was so much fun.  I wish I had taken more (and better) pictures.  Madison's two aunts hosted her party and made it so formal and fancy.  Hannah has still been talking about it.
Madison is the cutie pie in the middle.
Apparently Hannah was too busy with the blower to take a decent picture.
We bought Madison a Madame Alexander doll for her birthday.  She & Hannah are so excited to have twin dolls.

Today it's rainy so we've popped popcorn and are having a "movie theater."  Oh and making home made chocolate chip cookies.  Delicious!

The Clark's Next Big Adventure

So much for keeping the blog updated this year 😂  The Clark family is embarking on another adventure though and it's too big not to doc...
